ORBIT — Refund & Billing Policy
Effective date: 27 June 2026 Operator: Joshua Kaen Bentley ("ORBIT", "we", "us", "our") Governing law: Australia Billing contact: billing@tekanology.com
This Refund & Billing Policy explains how ORBIT is priced, how and when you are charged, and your refund and cancellation rights. It forms part of, and should be read together with, our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meaning given in the Terms of Service.
1. What ORBIT Is (and What You Are Paying For)
ORBIT is an approval-first AI tool for cause and fundraising campaigns. For each campaign, ORBIT's AI proposes material — discovery of relevant communities, influencers and sources; outreach and personal-ask drafts; social and blog content; and timing and analysis. You review, you approve, and you publish or send everything manually. The AI never posts, sends, or transacts on your behalf.
What you are paying for is AI compute and generated digital output for a campaign — not a physical good and not an ongoing subscription.
2. Pricing Model
- Free signup. Creating a ORBIT account is free. You can create a campaign, enter campaign details, and view your workspace without paying.
- Pay per campaign. ORBIT is priced per campaign, not as a recurring subscription. Payment unlocks a specific campaign's value-producing AI features (the content/research/outreach generation functions). It does not unlock other campaigns.
- Currency. All prices are stated and charged in United States Dollars (USD) unless stated otherwise at the point of purchase. See Section 10 (Currency) regarding conversion and foreign-transaction costs.
- Current price. ORBIT is currently in an early phase. At present, campaign unlocks are provided free of charge ($0) — including founder/demo ("comped") grants and $0 developer unlocks. No live payment is taken today. The paid billing described in this Policy applies once paid billing is switched on, at which point the then-current price will be displayed before you confirm any purchase.
- Price visibility. The price applicable to a campaign unlock — together with any applicable taxes — will be shown to you on the checkout/confirmation screen before you confirm. By confirming, you agree to that price.
3. What a Paid Campaign Unlocks
Unlocking (paying for) a campaign enables that campaign's generation features — the endpoints that actually produce value, for example:
- AI discovery of communities, influencers and sources relevant to your cause;
- AI-drafted outreach messages and peer-to-peer ("personal ask") drafts;
- AI-generated social posts and blog/long-form content and variants;
- timing, audience and competitive analysis for the campaign.
Free, unpaid actions — such as signing up, creating a campaign record, entering your brief, and viewing existing content — are not gated behind payment. Entitlement is tracked per campaign; paying for one campaign does not unlock another.
4. How Billing Works
- Payment processor. When paid billing is live, card payments are processed by Stripe (anticipated: Stripe). You may be subject to the payment processor's own terms and privacy policy in addition to ours.
- We do not store card numbers. Card details are entered into and handled directly by the payment processor. ORBIT does not receive, process, or store your full card number (PAN), CVC, or expiry. We retain only non-sensitive payment reference data returned by the processor — such as a checkout-session id, a payment-intent id, the amount, the currency, and the payment status — together with the processor's webhook event records, so that we can confirm your unlock and keep an accurate billing ledger.
- Receipts. Where the payment processor or ORBIT issues a receipt or confirmation, it will be sent to the email address on your account. Keep your email address current so you receive billing communications.
5. When Payment Is Taken
- Payment for a campaign is taken at the point you choose to unlock/activate that campaign — i.e. at campaign unlock, before its generation features become available — not at signup and not merely for creating or viewing a campaign.
- A campaign unlock is a one-time charge for that campaign. It is not a recurring or auto-renewing charge, and we do not store your card on file for future automatic billing unless we separately tell you so and you agree at the time.
- Your unlock entitlement is recorded against that specific campaign once payment is confirmed by the processor.
6. Refunds
Please read this section carefully, together with Section 7 (Your Statutory Rights), which overrides anything in this section to the extent the law requires.
- Why generation is treated as consumed. A campaign unlock pays for AI-generated digital output that is produced on demand and consumes computing resources as soon as generation runs. Once generation has begun for a campaign, that compute and output have been delivered to you.
- General stance — non-refundable once generation has begun. Accordingly, campaign unlock fees are generally non-refundable once any generation has been run for the campaign. By unlocking and running generation, you acknowledge you are receiving digital content/services that are delivered immediately.
- Before any generation has run. If you have unlocked a campaign but no generation has been run on it, you may request a refund of that unlock fee by contacting us at billing@tekanology.com. We will refund eligible, un-consumed unlocks to the original payment method, subject to verification.
- Discretionary refunds. Even where a refund is not required, we may, at our sole discretion, offer a full or partial refund or credit — for example, where a clear technical fault on our side prevented generation from completing, or you were charged in error (see Section 8). Granting a discretionary refund in one case does not waive this Policy for other cases.
- Quality of AI output is not, by itself, a ground for refund. AI output is proposal-only and inherently variable; you remain responsible for reviewing, editing, approving and deciding whether to use it. Dissatisfaction with the style, tone, or substance of generated content, where generation in fact ran, is not on its own a basis for a refund, except where a statutory right or applicable law provides otherwise.
- How to request. Email billing@tekanology.com with your account email, the campaign concerned, and the reason for your request. We aim to respond within 5 business days.
7. Your Statutory Rights (Consumer Protections)
Nothing in this Policy removes or limits rights you have under mandatory consumer-protection law. Where those rights conflict with Section 6, your statutory rights prevail.
7.1 EU / UK consumers — 14-day right of withdrawal and the immediate-performance waiver
If you are a consumer in the EU or the UK, you normally have the right to withdraw from a distance contract for digital services within 14 days without giving a reason, and to receive a refund.
However, for digital content and services supplied immediately, this right can be lost where:
- you give your express prior consent for performance (i.e. generation) to begin during the 14-day withdrawal period; and
- you acknowledge that, by doing so, you will lose your right of withdrawal once performance has begun (and, for digital content, once download/streaming/generation has started).
When you unlock a campaign and start generation, we will ask you to give this express consent and acknowledgement. If you provide it and generation begins, you will not be entitled to withdraw and obtain a refund for that campaign under the 14-day right, to the extent permitted by Article 16 of EU Directive 2011/83/EU and equivalent UK Consumer Contracts Regulations.
If you do not start generation, your 14-day withdrawal right is unaffected, and you may withdraw and obtain a refund within that period.
7.2 California and other US consumers
If you are a California or other US resident, you retain any non-waivable refund or cancellation rights available to you under applicable state law. Nothing in Section 6 limits remedies you cannot lawfully waive. (Note: this Section concerns billing; your privacy rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including rights to access, delete, correct, and limit the sale/sharing of personal information, are described in our Privacy Policy.)
7.3 Other jurisdictions
If you are a consumer elsewhere, you keep the benefit of any mandatory refund, cancellation, or guarantee rights granted by the law of Australia or your country of residence. This Policy is read subject to those rights.
8. Failed, Duplicate, or Erroneous Charges
- Failed payments. If a payment fails or is declined, the campaign will simply remain locked; no generation features are enabled until a successful payment is confirmed.
- Duplicate charges. If you are charged more than once for the same campaign unlock due to a technical error, we will refund the duplicate charge to the original payment method once verified. Contact billing@tekanology.com with the relevant transaction details.
- Erroneous charges. If you believe you were charged in error or were charged the wrong amount, contact us within 5 days at billing@tekanology.com and we will investigate and correct any genuine error.
9. Taxes
- Unless stated otherwise at checkout, prices are quoted inclusive of applicable taxes (such as VAT, GST, or US sales tax).
- Where tax applies, the applicable amount is included in the displayed price where required by law.
- You are responsible for any taxes, levies, or duties imposed on the transaction by your jurisdiction that are not collected by us or the payment processor. Tax handling may be administered by Stripe on our behalf.
10. Currency, Conversion, and Foreign-Transaction Costs
- Prices are charged in USD. If your card or account is denominated in another currency, your bank or card issuer will perform the currency conversion at its exchange rate and may add foreign-transaction or conversion fees over which we have no control and for which we are not responsible.
- The amount that ultimately appears on your statement may therefore differ slightly from the USD price shown, due to your issuer's conversion rate and fees.
11. Chargebacks and Disputes
- Talk to us first. If you have a billing concern, please contact billing@tekanology.com before initiating a chargeback. Most issues (duplicate charges, errors, failed unlocks) can be resolved quickly and directly.
- Chargebacks on consumed services. Initiating a chargeback for a campaign where generation has already been run — and where no statutory refund right applies — may be treated as a disputed payment. We reserve the right to submit evidence of delivery (for example, records that generation was run and output produced) to the payment processor, and to suspend or restrict access to the affected account or campaign while a dispute is open.
- This Section does not affect your right to dispute a charge that is genuinely unauthorized, duplicated, or made in error, or to exercise statutory rights under Section 7.
12. Changes to Pricing and to This Policy
- We may change our prices and this Policy from time to time. Any price change will apply only to future campaign unlocks, not to unlocks you have already purchased.
- We will post the updated Policy with a revised "Effective date" and, where the change is material, provide reasonable advance notice by email to your account address and/or an in-product notice before it takes effect.
- Your continued use of ORBIT after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy, except where applicable law requires your specific consent.
